10 jaar Nederlandstalige Wikipedia

Beste allemaal,

In januari dit jaar bestond Wikipedia 10 jaar: wereldwijd is dit gevierd, ook in Nederland. Op 19 juni 2001 is vervolgens onze eigen Nederlandstalige Wikipedia opgericht en Wikimedia Nederland nodigt jullie van harte uit om ook dit 10 jarige jubileum samen te vieren.

Op 18 juni is er 's middags een fotojacht, Wiki takes Den Bosch, om zoveel mogelijk monumenten te fotograferen. De stad staat er vol mee, nu de foto's nog!
's Avonds vieren we feest, met muziek, een hapje en een drankje en een klinkend glas om middernacht. Vier met ons mee en schrijf je in via formulier!

Call for image filter referendum

The Wikimedia Foundation, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, will be holding a vote to determine whether members of the community support the creation and usage of an opt-in personal image filter, which would allow readers to voluntarily screen particular types of images strictly for their own account.

Further details and educational materials will be available shortly. The referendum is scheduled for 12-27 August, 2011, and will be conducted on servers hosted by a neutral third party. Referendum details, officials, voting requirements, and supporting materials will be posted at Meta:Image filter referendum shortly.

Meeting of Wikipedias in Regional Languages

Hello everyone, There is a discussion going on about a possible meeting of wikipedians from projects in regional languages at the WikiConvention 2011 in Nürnberg. I am an active author on the Alemannic Wikipedia and would be interested in attending. However, I don't want to end up being the only one there. Voornamen

In 't West-Vlaams worden voornamen soms veranderd. André wordt Dreten, Ernest = Nesten, René wordt Neten. Ik heb van mijn voornaam Paul dan maar Polten gemaakt maar klopt dat wel? Hoe zit dat eigenlijk? Wordt dat ook gedaan met meisjesnamen?

Polten voor Paul heb ik nog niet gehoord, wel Polle :) ... Andere West-Vlaamse namen zijn: Floren, Tjeppen, Djoren, Berten, Gusten... En met meisjesnamen wordt dat inderdaad ook gedaan: Nelle, Miete, Clette, Babbe, Fyte, Treze, Calle :) ... --Zeisterre 21 sep 2011 19:09 (UTC)

De Wikimedia Conferentie 2011 komt eraan!

Hallo allemaal!

Op zaterdag 5 november organiseert de Vereniging Wikimedia Nederland in Utrecht de jaarlijkse Wikimedia Conferentie Nederland!

De Wikimedia Conferentie wordt voor de vijfde maal georganiseerd en ook dit jaar hebben we weer een goed gevuld programma met diverse sprekers omtrent de thema's wiki's en Cultureel Erfgoed. Zo kun je meer te weten komen over de toekomst van gadgets voor Wikipedia, de meerwaarde van het vrijgeven van fotocollecties en kun je leren over het gebruik van sjablonen en categorieën. Aan het einde van de dag zal de prijsuitreiking van de in september georganiseerde fotowedstrijd Wiki Loves Monuments zijn, waarvoor je ook van harte bent uitgenodigd.

De conferentie vindt plaats van 9.30 tot 18.00 bij Media Plaza op Hoog-Catherijne in Utrecht (direct naast het Centraal Station!). Vanaf 15.00 uur is de conferentie vanwege de prijsuitreiking vrij toegankelijk.
Verenigingsleden krijgen bij ons uiteraard een speciale korting op de toegangsprijs. Nog geen lid? Maak dan gebruik van de mogelijkheid om je via de voorinschrijving kostenloos in te schrijven voor 2011 èn 2012!
